What's
in it for you...
Chamber membership is valuable to a business because it provides avenues
for business interaction and promotion, business advocacy, cost-savings
and benefits, not to mention community enrichment. There are many benefits
in doing business as a Chamber member.
Here are just a few:
Networking & Communications
As a Chamber member, you will receive a monthly newsletter containing
all the pertinent business news in the community. You will also receive
invitations to all Chamber activities including Hot Topic Luncheons, Chamber
After Hours, Business Showcase, Farm/City Breakfast, and much more.
Retail Business Support
Retail is one of the fastest growing segments of our community. The Chamber
supports that growth with an annual Business Showcase and the Chamber
Gift Certificate program. Only Chamber members can participate in both
of these programs. To date almost $170,000 worth of gift certificates
have been sold and are redeemable at the participating chamber member
business.
Marketing Opportunities
All Chamber members are listed in our Membership Directory and Buyer's
Guide that is distributed to all members and is included in all welcome
packets sent to newcomers. Advertising is reasonably priced and reserved
for members in Chamber publications, such as, the membership directory,
Madisonville Magazine, and the only official city/county map. A stylish
membership plaque is placed in all member businesses to show their support
of the economic vitality of the community.
Directory Listing
Our annual membership directory is a vital tool to all Chamber members.
This directory enables all Chamber members to list their business, or
individual membership alphabetically and categorically. This directory
is distributed locally and also used in relocation packets that are sent
to people throughout the United States who call and request information.
Internet Listing
The Internet is a valuable new benefit of Chamber membership to promote
local events, services and community resources, becoming, in effect, an
on-line media guide to the Madisonville and Hopkins County area. Our home
page will include the Chamber's categorical membership directory, which
effectively means that all Chamber members will now have exposure to millions
of computer users around the globe. Use of the Chamber's Web site can
promote your business, create additional pages for those who want to publish
more information than a simple listing, or link to sites that members
have created on their own.
Referrals
Each day the Chamber receives a large number of inquiries from people
all over the United States. Questions are asked, such as: "What type of
entertainment is there in Madisonville?," "Where do I eat?," "Where do
I stay while visiting?," and "Have you heard of a certain business and
how reputable are they?" Many times people will use a specific business
just because that business is a member of the Chamber of Commerce; this
seems to give the business more credibility. ONLY Chamber members are
referred.
Grand Openings/Special Promotions
Take advantage of assistance with media communications, VIP representation,
a mail list of community-minded business and industry leaders and other
public relations activities to assist in putting the spotlight on your
company.
Ribbon Cuttings
New businesses that join the Chamber will receive an official ribbon-cutting
ceremony. Diplomats from the community will join in with representatives
from the Chamber staff by greeting a new business that has joined the
Chamber with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ceremony will include
a cutting of the ribbon and an announcement will appear in the Chamber's
monthly newsletter.
Business Advocacy
The Chamber is THE voice of the business community in Hopkins County.
With over 600 members on our team, people listen when the Chamber talks.
The Chamber actively represents the business interest in Hopkins County
to all levels of government through its legislative committee, transportation
committee, and education committee.
Community Involvement
Chamber membership gives you an opportunity to participate on Chamber
committees that have great impact on business and community development
in Hopkins County.
